In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed
There's a dyin' voice within me reaching out somewhere,
Toiling in the danger and in the morals of despair.

Don't have the inclination to look back on any mistake,
Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break.
In the fury of the moment I can see the Master's hand
In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand.

Oh, the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear,
Like criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer.
The sun beat down upon the steps of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness and the memory of decay.

I gaze into the doorway of temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way I always hear my name.
Then onward in my journey I come to understand
That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand.

I have gone from rags to riches in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer's dream, in the chill of a wintry light,
In the bitter dance of loneliness fading into space,
In the broken mirror of innocence on each forgotten face.

I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there, other times it's only me.
I am hanging in the balance of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand.

    Temat: What does MLitt mean?
Wystarczyło wpisać "MLitt" w Google, i oto odpowiedź:

The Master of Letters (MLitt from the Latin magister litterarum) is a
postgraduate Master's degree which has two main systems of use.

The MLitt (T) is a one-year full-time taught degree at the ancient Scottish
universities. Usually, the degree involves nine months of postgraduate-level
courses, followed by a short research dissertation written during the summer
months. Often the MLitt is awarded here because for the ancient universities
the first degree in the Arts and Humanities is an undergraduate MA (Hons), and
contrasts with the MPhil degree, a more advanced one-year research Masters.

The older MLitt, now often called the MLitt (R) to differentiate the two, is a
research degree lasting two years in many UK universities, including the
ancient Scottish Universities who also grant MLitts (T). Students rarely apply
for an MLitt in the first instance, but for those who have completed two years
of a PhD and do not wish to or cannot continue with the final year(s), they
have the option to write up their completed research so far and graduate with
    an MLitt (R).

The MLitt in non-UK universities around the world is generally of the two-year
    research variety.

In all cases, the MLitt is usually awarded in Arts, Divinity, Fine Art,
    Humanities, or Social Sciences.

Wygrzebane w necie - LOUIS WALLER
Come back with me to Siedlce in Poland, on 10 February 1935 when the young
Peter Louis Waller was born to his parents, Jack and Hilda. It was an
extremely dangerous time to bring into the world a Jewish boy. It was
specially dangerous in Poland, soon to be engulfed by occupation and a fearsome
barbarity. Siedlce is 100 kilometres east of Warsaw. As the crow flies, it is
about a 150 kilometres from Lodz. Closer still, and to the north-east, was a
sleep vacation spot known as Treblinka. Within five years of the young boy's
birth, these names, and the names of other Polish towns, would be written
indelibly, in blood, on human history. (...)

The boy from Siedlce in Poland is the master of the English language. He
deploys it with graphic skill. And that skill extends from the lecture hall to
the printed page. We are the beneficiaries.

..."Bobby Henderson, a graduate of Oregon State University with a bachelor’s
degree in physics, has created Flying Spaghetti Monsterism (FSM). FSM is a
satirical parody religion in response to the Kansas State Board of Education’s
decision to allow creationism to be taught alongside evolution. This ‘religion’
quickly became a phenomenon on the internet, gaining many followers of the
Flying Spaghetti Monster, who sometimes call themselves “Pastafarians” and
claim to have been touched by “His noodly appendage.” They preach the word of
their “noodly Master” as the one true religion. In June of this year, Henderson
wrote a letter to the Kansas Board formally requesting that the FSM be given
equal time along with evolution and creationism in the school curriculum. He
received sympathetic responses from three members of the board shortly
thereafter. Henderson continues to advocate for FSM and has, along with
hundreds of other Pastafarians, advised the Kansas Board that he will take
legal action if his request is ignored.

    Meditation on World Presenc Crisis

    For one time classical beliefs were good sources for morals and for values;
for another, human welfare and survival dominated. Then there was a great
confusion, for who is eligible to decide and determine the exact meaning of
any of these terms. It turned to be all depending on technological progress
and productivity, with the very clear problem of supplies and material
provision shortage for human needs and relating activities!

Capital accumulation and wealth became the only value that practically
    dominated morals and criteria.
. Behind this new idol sat those who master and control human destiny with
the problem that they might never reckon long-run endings as such endings
are unprecedented. They seemed at last to be driven by certain whims, which
are contradictory to the same value they started with: Democracy Idol! It
seems they don't understand how civilization was constructed, developed, and
maintained. They believe they are most powerful and powerful enough to
control all! They lost goal and lost direction; they can hardly understand
that total control dumps and disregards the best they think they are
defending, Democracy- meaning sufficient margin to stay independent, as much
as to initiate and take part in the process of progress and development.

MonikaS, but you're doing it so that's what matters, isn't it?
BTW it was good to find out what people usually read while travelling by Tube.
I was just wondering what the students over there read for pleasure. I don't

Podoba mi się tekst z kawałka "Throw Away Your Television". Tyle co wyłapałem
    w locie (piszę z pamięci):

    Throw away your television
Time to make this clean decision
    Master waits fot its collision
    now!

    Throw away your television

    Recreate your supervision

    Throw away your television

    By the way:

To
przesłuchania "kupiłem" "My Favorite Things" Coltrane'a (no właśnie nie "A Love
Supreme"), "Sketches of Spain" Milesa ("Kind of Blue" wchodziło we mnie jakoś
długo), "Double Raibow" J. Hendersona, "MoodSwing" Redmana (ale ta płyta
ostatnio jakoś mi nie leży), "Time out" kwartetu Brubecka (na imprezie u
kumpla, kiedy po raz pierwszy to usłyszałem, to poprosiłem, żeby puścił jeszcze
raz kiedy się skończyła, a następnego dnia zamówiłem sobie płytkę, co by ją
posiąść; z Brubecka dodałbym jeszcze ze dwie płyty), "Changeless" trio
    Jarretta.
A innepłyty różnych artystów, no właśnie... Słucham, niby fajne, wracam nawet

    Hi there!

I had been an interpreter/translator for The Superior Court in Massachusetts
for few years. Because I was born and educated all the way up to the graduate
level in Poland, and have mastered Polish, I was classified as a native
speaker. During the interview I went through all kinds of language tests. The
work itself was really interesting and demanding. The judge would usually ask
me if I wanted to translate simultaneously, or sentence by sentence. I would
choose simultaneous with sentence-by-sentence option, because from time to time
you have to stop and explain. In this kind of translating you have to be most
sensitive of cultural differences. Many people don’t speak perfect Polish, even
if they have lived all their lives in Poland – I didn’t have to say this, but I
    did anyway.
How to tell a phony from a genuine native speaker? Just listen to them, seems
that simple unless I have missed something. It takes more than “some” time to
master the language. I don’t care how boastful people are – it takes few years.
Also – ask for references. I have mine from the Court.
Now, if you can tell me what “safe money” is? Or is it “save money”?
    Also, “…he…have a wacky accent” – don’t mind me but “he” “has”…always.
    No hard feelings... ;))

    > Jak są traktowani kandydaci po dobrych uczelniach polskich, z dobrą GPA, przy
    > przyjęciach na dobre graduate studies na dobrych uczelniach kanadyjskich??

Myślę, że dobrze. Szczerze mówiąc, mało ludzi z Polski przysyła podania,
więc trudno mi to ocenić.

wiele uczelni wymaga "statement of purpose", czyli listu motywacyjnego.
    praca z prof. XYZ.

Czy dużo ludzi studiuje "part time"??

Jeżeli chodzi o "part time", to czasami jest to możliwe, aczkolwiek
trudniejsze do zorganizowania. Trzeba znaleźć profesora, który pójdzie
na taki układ, trudno też uzyskać wtedy stypendia. Różnie to wygląda
na różnych uczelniach - najlepiej zasięgnąć informacji bezbośrednio
od uczelni. Jednak wątpię, czy można dostać wizę studencką na studia part-time.

The first person to be charged in Northern Ireland with importing and
exploiting illegal immigrants is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrate's
    Court today.

The 22-year-old man, believed to be Polish, was last night charged with acting
as a gangmaster. He was also charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and
causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The charges are related to the alleged abduction and assault of another Polish
man in Co Antrim last week.

Two other 22-year-old men, also believed to be Polish, will also appear before
the court charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm
    with intent.

The men were arrested after a man was forcibly taken from the Bridge Bar
outside the town of Dunloy at lunchtime on Sunday, December 4.

A short time later, after police received a report of a disturbance at
Linenhall Street in nearby Ballymoney, officers "rescued" the alleged victim.

The 22-year-old victim received a broken arm and several cuts during the
incident. He was then taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine to be
    treated for his injuries.

Following the attack police arrested three Polish men at a house in nearby
    Victoria Street in Ballymoney.

Interpreters were brought in to question the men about the abduction and assault.

On Tuesday, Inspector Noel Mitchell of Ballymoney PSNI said police have a car
in their possession which they believe was used by those involved in the
    abduction.

He added that police did not believe the attack was sectarian or racially
    motivated.

This is the first time anyone in Northern Ireland has been charged with acting
    as a gang master.

Gang masters organise groups of itinerant workers for poorly paid and
hazardous jobs, often supplying poor accommodation, deducting wages and
    charging for their services.

Last year the UK parliament introduced a new act to tackle gang master operations.

The problem came under scrutiny following the death of 21 Chinese cockle
pickers who drowned in Morecambe Bay in north-western England last February.
Three Chinese people were charged with manslaughter and related offences.

    2. Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary:

    DAY 183 OF MY CAPTIVITY
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.

    Pricks.

The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild
satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture.

Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors, by weaving around their feet while they
were walking, almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs
next time. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile bastards, I
again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair.

Note - to - self: I think I'll try crapping under their bed, too.

Wonder how long it'll take them to find it?

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, to make them aware
of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts.

They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was.

    Damn!

    Not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in
solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise andsmell the
food. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power
of "ellergeez". Must learn what the Hell this is and how to use it to my
    advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog
is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously
    a bloody half-wit.

The bird, on the other hand, appears to have become an informant, and
speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move.

Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is preserved.
But I can wait; it's only a matter of time...little bastard.

Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself this could be heaven or this could be hell
Then she lit up a candle, and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California.
Such a lovely place, such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (any time of year) you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweats
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the captain; "Please bring me my wine."
"We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night, just to hear them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California.
Such a lovely place, such a lovely face

And she said, "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax" said the nightman; "We are programmed to receive"

    Temat: Test tempetamentu (na poważnie)
The Idealists called Teachers are abstract in their thought and speech,
cooperative in their style of achieving goals, and directive and extraverted in
their interpersonal relations. Learning in the young has to be beckoned forth,
teased out from its hiding place, or, as suggested by the word "education," it
has to be "educed." by an individual with educative capabilities. Such a one is
the eNFj, thus rightly called the educative mentor or Teacher for short. The
Teacher is especially capable of educing or calling forth those inner potentials
each learner possesses. Even as children the Teachers may attract a gathering of
other children ready to follow their lead in play or work. And they lead without
    seeming to do so.
Teachers expect the very best of those around them, and this expectation,
usually expressed as enthusiastic encouragement, motivates action in others and
the desire to live up to their expectations. Teachers have the charming
characteristic of taking for granted that their expectations will be met, their
implicit commands obeyed, never doubting that people will want to do what they
suggest. And, more often than not, people do, because this type has
    extraordinary charisma.
The Teachers are found in no more than 2 or 3 percent of the population. They
like to have things settled and arranged. They prefer to plan both work and
social engagements ahead of time and tend to be absolutely reliable in honoring
these commitments. At the same time, Teachers are very much at home in complex
situations which require the juggling of much data with little pre-planning. An
experienced Teacher group leader can dream up, effortlessly, and almost
endlessly, activities for groups to engage in, and stimulating roles for members
of the group to play. In some Teachers, inspired by the responsiveness of their
students or followers, this can amount to genius which other types find hard to
emulate. Such ability to preside without planning reminds us somewhat of an
Provider, but the latter acts more as a master of ceremonies than as a leader of
groups. Providers are natural hosts and hostesses, making sure that each guest
is well looked after at social gatherings, or that the right things are
expressed on traditional occasions, such as weddings, funerals, graduations, and
the like. In much the same way, Teachers value harmonious human relations about
all else, can handle people with charm and concern, and are usually popular
wherever they are. But Teachers are not so much social as educational leaders,
interested primarily in the personal growth and development of others, and less
in attending to their social needs.

"Maboroshi no Meito Chef's Knives, made by swordsmith Teruyasu Fujiwara the
fourth, are among the finest in the world. He explains that the manufacture of
these knives requires all of the sword making experience and techniques passed
down in his family through the generations. As with famous swords of old, he
has given these knives a name, Maboroshi no Meito which roughly translates
to "Visionary Sword Celebrated in Victory". Fujiwara knives are widely coveted
by professional chefs for their incredibly sharp, long lasting edge.

Mr. Fujiwara makes the complete knife from start to finish. For the blade, he
uses a proprietary #1 white high carbon steel (1.5%) called Izuha-kou forged
laminated between two layers of stainless steel. The blade is then hardened to
Rockwell 64-65 and attached to a pakka wood handle with bolster and full length
tang. Each knife is fully sharpened to a razor edge. Blade length is 6", and
    overall length is 10-3/4".

    A History of Fujiwara Hamono

Over 130 years ago, Teruyasu Fujiwara the first began his career as a master
black smith making farm tools. When his son Fujiwara the second was of age, he
was apprenticed to the famous Tokyo sword smith Masahide Suishinshi. After some
years of training, he retuned to his father’s shop and commenced to make swords.

The family continued this tradition until sword making was restricted after
WWII. At this point the Fujiwara's were forced to make knives in addition to
two swords a month to make a living. For a time, they became very famous for
their knives used in the manufacture of Tatami mats.

But by the end of the 1960’s Tatami knives were no longer needed due to
automation of Tatami manufacturing. So they decided to make kitchen knives.
They were determined to recover family fortunes by making the very best quality
    kitchen knives possible.

To this end, they spent the next ten years developing the steel and techniques
necessary to forge weld stainless steel with high carbon steel and then
properly temper harden the blade. It took all of the knowledge gain by the
family from more than 100 years of forging swords to successfully produce their
    current offering of kitchen knives.

For the last 10 years, Fujiwara the fourth has continued the family tradition.

Fujiwara knives have been endorsed by many professional chefs including Mr.
Kunio Fukazawa of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo."

assistant (indywidualnie z uczniami), np pomagac w nauce trudnej
taka prace dostac, w innym prowincjach (Alberta, BC, Manitoba) moze
    byc duzo latwiej.
maja skonczone jakies studia, nawet w Polsce) mozna skonczyc
dodatkowy kierunek (tez rok), zeby moc pracowac w special
education.

i zdobyc odpowiednie tytuly, zeby miec bardziej odpowiedzialna i
    lepiej platna prace.

    "Lokomotywa" po katalońsku
    A oto po angielsku

A locomotive stands at the station,
    Heavy, enormous, drips perspiration:
    Greasy oil.
She stands, gasping, panting and blowing,
The heat from her boiling belly glowing:
    BANG how hot it is!
    CLANG how hot it is!
    PUFF how hot it is!
    HUFF how hot it is!

She barely puffs and holds her soul,
    But the stoker still fills her with coal;
They hitched to her railroad cars,
Big and heavy of iron bars,
And lots of people here and farther,
    In one stand horses - cows in another;
    Fat men only sit in the third;
They eat thick saisage without a word.
The fourth one caries a load of bananas,
In the fifth there stand six grand pianos.
In the sixth a cannon, of heavy steel,
An iron beam beneath each wheel.
In the seventh oaken tables, a chest, a chair,
An elephant in the eight, giraffes, a bear.
The ninth one has only fattened pigs,
In the tenth are parcels, boxes and rigs,
And forty cars are in the train,
I cannot tell what else they contain.
But even though a thousand athlets came,
Each having had a thousand steaks on the road,
And each engaged his mighty frame,
They could not budge the heavy load.

    Then - a hiss!
    Then - a whizz!
    The steam - bang!
    The wheels - clang!
    At first she's slow
    like a turtle
    and fetterred,
    She moves on the rails
    with a sluggish
    clatter.
She tugs at the cars and pulling with strain,
She's turning and turning the wheels of the train.
She gathers some speed and she goes now much faster,
She echoes, she rattles. and speed is her master.
But whereto? But whereto? But whereto? Ahead!
    On the rails, on the rails, on the bridge she sped;
Through tunnels and mountains and woods she must climb,
She hurries and hurries to get there on time.
    She clatters and raps click-clickety-clickety,
    Clickety-clickety- clickety- clickety.
Smoothly so, slightly so, does she now roll,
As if she were merely a tiniest ball.
It's not an exhausted and panting machine
But rather a plaything, a toy made of tin.

And where is she speeding so, why such a rush?
And who is it pushing and why all this rush?
Why does she hurtle and boom, bang, bang?!
It's steam that's hot, that has set her to clang,
The steam from the boiler to piston is piped,
And pistons then activate wheels on two sides,
They run and they push and they keep the train rolling,
The steam is still pumping the pistons, not stalling.
And wheels are a-clatter, and raping click-clickety,
    Clickety-clack, click, clicketty-clickety.....

    tlumacza i conradysty Adama Gillona.
    Mam nadzieje ze zrobilam przyjemnosc.
